Rick Welty is a life-long resident of Galesburg. He is a graduate of Galesburg High School and Western Illinois University with a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education. Rick is the administrator of Medical & Surgical Specialists. He and his wife Sue have two children, Megan and Adam, who are also GHS graduates. Rick joined the Board in 2009. Since all four members of the Welty family were educated in District 205, he felt it important to see that other families have some of the same opportunities for a quality education. |

Mike
Panther is a lifelong resident of our community, He attended Knox College,
the University of North Dakota and earned his masters degree from Western
Illinois University. He is a sixth grade teacher at ROWVA East and his wife,
Mary, teaches at Galesburg High School. The Panthers have two children -
Megan, who graduated in 1999, and Reed, a 2002 graduate. Mike joined the
Board in 1997 because he felt that with his background in education and his
interest as a parent, he could make a difference in the educational
opportunities offered to Galesburg children. |

Barry Swanson is a life-long Galesburg resident. He holds a BA degree from Illinois Wesleyan University, a MS degree from Western Illinois University and an earned doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Barry was a teacher, administrator and coach in District 205 for 26 years. He completed his public school service as an administrator in the Chicago Suburbs. He has served as lecturer in the Department of Educational Organization and Leadership at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He currently holds the position of part-time lecturer in Educational Studies at Knox College. His wife, Gail (1966) and three children, Lara Wilson (1990), Luke (1994), and Matt (1997) are all GHS graduates. Barry joined the District 205 Board of Education in April 2005 with the intention of impacting policy making decisions that are in the best interests of the district’s children and the community. |

Bob
Lindstrom is a life-long resident of Galesburg. He holds a BA degree
from Coe College and a JD degree from Drake University. He also
attended the University of Iowa Graduate Business School. Bob has
practiced law in Galesburg for over 30 years. He and his wife,
Priscilla, and their three children, Scott, Doug, and Mary, all attended
District 205 schools. In 2004, Priscilla retired from District 205
after 24 years of service to the district. Bob was first elected to
the Board of Education in 1997. His work in local economic development
efforts made him aware of the importance of an outstanding public school
system in attracting business to the Galesburg community. |

Tom Colclasure was born in Galesburg and attended Galesburg public
schools for grades K-12. Tom received his BA and his MA in history
from Western Illinois University. He resides in Galesburg with his family
and is employed by Bridgeway Inc.. Tom's wife Heather Hellenga teaches
5th grade at Steele school, while his daughter Harper Lee Colclasure and his
son Jackson Colclasure both attend Galesburg public schools. |

Natalie M. Kessler is a lifetime Galesburg resident, attending L.T. Stone Elementary, Farnham Elementary, Steele Middle, Churchill Junior High, and Galesburg High School (1988 Graduate). She has an AB in History and Economics from Augustana College (IL) and is an Illinois-certified secondary school teacher. As owner of Masters Educational Services for over fourteen years, Ms. Kessler, along with husband Dave Dunn, educate adult students from around the world in leadership and management. Natalie believes our schools (staff, students, curriculum, and buildings) must reflect our belief in a vibrant and prosperous Galesburg community and must be welcoming to all who arrive. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Molly Palmer grew up in Galesburg and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1990. She holds a Bachelor of Business degree in Accountancy from Western Illinois University, and a Juris Doctorate degree from Valparaiso University School of Law. Molly and her husband, Cal, returned to Galesburg in 2002 and she has practiced law in private practice since that time. Molly and Cal have four children who are or will be District #205 students. |
