Ø	June 8 - Report Card Day

As you can see by the few number of announcements, that the end of school-year 2008-2009 is in sight. I’d like to say it was a great year, but that would be less than honest. It has been a challenging year filled with hard work and many challenges for the staff at Lombard Middle School. However, the challenges did not come without many rewards. Some examples of outstanding effort by the students of Lombard include:

Ø	Mackenzie Bates who was honored at the IPA Student Recognition Banquet hosted by the Illinois Principals Association at Monmouth College on May 1st
Ø	6 Lombard Students were honored at the 10th Annual Support Group for African American Affairs Scholarship Dinner on May 2, 2009.
o	6th Grade Jordyn Lee & Antoine Starks
o	7th Grade Darrian King & Toronto Johnson
o	8th Grade Shaksha Grays & Marcus Ross
Ø	9 Lombard Students will be honored as Gale Scholars on May 13
o	Andrew Bartlett
o	Dashay Burnett
o	Halie Curtis
o	Shakisha Grays
o	Yesenia Perez
o	Jacob Ryden
o	Troy Schisler
o	Amaunie Stapleton
o	Ashley Schmidt

Teacher’s Appreciation Week just recently concluded. Nevertheless, I would like to once again publicly recognize the outstanding effort put forth by the staff at Lombard as they continually make a difference in the lives of the students each and everyday. It is a remarkable sight to see!
